Ethan came over to visit Stacie and me, and we had a nice lunch at the Chinese Buddha. Shortly after, we left for AMC to watch Pirates of the Caribbean, a great action flick that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Next, we stopped by the Georgia Tech Student Center arcade to play Dance Dance Revolution and a fairly cool shooting game, Police 911 2. The arcade game has sensors that track your body movements for a realistic experience.

For dinner, we went to the International House of Pancakes. Ethan shortly after left for home, and Stacie and I concluded the night by watching Small Time Crooks.

Dont be surprised if I collapse down at your feet again

I’m still in one of those peculiar, dreamy moods, where I’m not quite sure of the past or the future. She ended it today; I knew it would happen, though the glimmer of hope that it wouldn’t persisted in me. She told her boyfriend about Monday night and was forgiven. They remain together. For my part, I have no regrets, though I think the next few weeks will be a little awkward for both of us. Would you catch me if I fall out of what I fell in?

Stacie, Kat, and I took the plunge and finally went to the shady Olympic Flame on South Atlanta Road. Sorry Adam. It’s one of those really strange family-owned burger places that are only open during breakfast. At first the guy waved us away, but we were determined. And, after seeing the pitiful looks on our faces, he decided to unlock the door and let us in. The food was surprisingly good and filling, and reminded me of Waffle House for some reason.

After lunch, we left for Lenox Mall to shop for clothing, and came home two hundred dollars poorer, with:

  • sangria and black piqué polo shirts from J. Crew.
  • a formal, black, short-sleeved buttoned shirt and white t-shirt from Club Monaco.
  • a nice pair of Athletic Oxfords and Rockstar Shades from American Eagle Outfitters.

In the afternoon, Kat and I signed an exclusive and perpetual license agreement, which allows her to consult with anyone except Adam. I can’t have him looking better than me, you know. Competition is tight.

With outlandish expenses like these, I think I’m going teach again in the Fall to make some income.

Our second exam in Microelectronic Circuits. Lab was easy; I had already finished most of the work yesterday. Chris and I went to the library afterwards to work on sample exams for our Instrumentation & Circuits Lab exam tomorrow. We also had a quick dinner at Little Dino’s Subs, before working on homework in the lab.

What a pleasant surprise this morning when I managed to mysteriously get my e-mail to work via IMAP/SSL using Ximian Evolution. I still can’t figure out how to thread messages, however. I went ahead and completed my Instrumentation & Circuits Lab assignment a day early, just to get some stress off my back.

Don’t get your hopes up

Another three hour long lab on transformers in Instrumentation & Circuits Lab. Spent the evening studying for my upcoming Microelectronic Circuits exam. The material might even border on interesting if I wasn’t currently so crunched for time.

Made it back safely to Atlanta, and, after a long nap, went promptly to work on Instrumentation & Circuits Lab homework. For dinner, Stacie and I used our coupons and went to Steak n Shake.

Met with the writing TA to look over my second writing report. Spent all day in the Instrumentation & Circuits Lab getting filters to work. I discovered a trick that lets me make quality barcharts using gnuplot. It uses awk and fig2dev to do its work.

I think I’m dropping out of school after this term. I set up SSH forwarding to ncftp.ece.gatech.edu, and it seems to work well, except with NcFTP.
