Dropped Engineering Economy. Ethan, Adam, and I went out to lunch at Fat Matt’s Rib Shack. Finished Homework 4 for Microelectronic Circuits Lab. Grip is a great CD player and CD ripper for Linux. Configured bayesian filtering for my e-mail boxes.
Fixed a bug in the Sieve filter. Wrote a simple autograder for Homework 4. TA meeting in the afternoon as usual. In recitation, I proctored an exam. I’m thinking about dropping Engineeering Economy to dedicate more time to compilers. Spent the evening working on VLSI homework, but can’t seem to get an answer to the first problem.
I made a silly mistake on my ECE4000 exam and, as usual, that will surely cost me. Spent several hours of frustation in the Microelectronic Circuits Lab. I also managed to write over all my backup CDs.
Woke up in the early morning to go over the pre-lab for Experiment 4, on differential and instrumentation amplifiers. Put the finishing touches on the formal report and turned it in before lab. Studied for ECE4000 with Chris after classes. Finished writing the autograder and Homework 4 criteria for Computing for Engineers.
Found a nice tutorial on SML at Carnegie Mellon. Discussed the formal report with the Writing TA. Later in the evening, made the recommended modifications and proofread the paper a few times. I found out that I have an ECE4000 exam this Wednesday, so it looks like the better part of tomorrow will be spent studying for it.
Tracy and friends left for North Carolina after having lunch with Adam and me at La Fonda. Uninstalled Microsoft Exchange Server 2000. Spent the evening working on my formal report.
Finished SPICE models for the 741 and LF351 operational amplifiers. Configured NFS on freya. Had lunch at the Chinese Buddha with Tracy, Stacie, Tina, and Adam. Finished Experiment 3 and Homework 3 for Microelectronic Circuits Lab. Nicky had a party at the apartment, and the group and I went out to the Universal Joint to celebrate Tina’s birthday.
It’s finally Friday. Met with the Microelectronic Circuits Lab Writing TA again in the afternoon, followed by several hours of work in the lab. Upgraded Debian packages. Tracy, Stacie, and Tina arrived at night.
Returned some library books. TA meeting the early afternoon, where I talked about Homework 4 to the other Teaching Assistants. Chris and I finished up the VLSI homework. Taught recitation in the evening, where we discussed multidimensional arrays, cryptography, and image analysis. Turned in the compilers project after some final bug fixing.
Met with the Microelectronic Circuits Lab Writing TA to get suggestions on my upcoming formal report. A full day of work, mostly spent on VLSI homework. Talked with Tracy on the phone. She’s coming to visit me this weekend.
