I know this is years later, but I'd just like to say thank you for the quick and simple tutorial on how to retrieve man pages.

I did a minimal install of FreeBSD 8.2 on a test computer of mine and realized the man pages weren't loading when requested.

I had the same problem, however my issue was 8.2-RELEASE, instead of 8.2-RELEASE-p3 for the Release Name. I followed these steps and everything went perfectly.

Really, really appreciate this. My problem was my computer crashed. After I reinstalled Windows, I needed to reinstall all the applications. For Quicken, you cannot reregister online, because it says you already registered with that name and serial. Without getting that done, the program keep nagging you each time you use it.

I’m running Snow Leopard 10.6.5 and when I open open the game it immediately shuts down “unexpectedly.” I followed the instructions with the exception of using unarchiver rather than StuffIt. Did something change with Snow Leopard?

Great tip! Just in case others are dense like me at 1:46 AM, the key is to “press and hold the Ctrl + Shift keys on the left side of your keyboard, AND THEN WHILE CONTINUING TO HOLD THE TWO KEYS, select Tools, then One Step Update.”

Hello All – I have a WRT300N v1.1 that had lights 1 through 4 lit up but no power light, no wireless light. I tried another 12vdc 1amp power supply I had laying around and it works again. Thanks for the idea about trying another power adapter.

Be sure to check out Powell’s Bookstore and to grab a movie at the Bagdad. I also recommend the Japanese Garden if you are into that kind of thing. The Chinese Garden was closed when I was there a few years ago.

ILD charged my business phone (Verizon) with a $50 a month charge for small business solutions. This was never agreed to, I called ILD and they said they were a billing clearing house and that I will need to call 1-800-773-9904 to get the charges removed. They told me to ask for a audio recording of the conversation with me. I will not be paying these bills, has anyone started a class action lawsuit against them?

There is a charge from this company on my phone bill this month. I called the number provided for “billing questions” 800-773-5219 to find that it is disconnected. I have alerted my telephone provider of this and they have put a block on this provider without confirmation voice authorization. Just another scam to look out for.

I have good credit and do not need, nor did I request a credit repair service online (never). Please stop charging $9.99 to my AT&T account. I called last month (August) and my account was credited; but this month (September) there is another charge on my phone. Stop stealing!

As a formerly avid user of SmartFTP, I’m a little sad to see that it’s come to this. It’s not really a surprise though, as they started adding things like an unregistered version notice and requiring licenses for commercial use a while back. Luckily, excellent open source alternatives like FileZilla have risen in that time to fill the void.

Speaking from personal experience, I recommend not installing OS X on a beige box. It’s not particularly hard, but the differences in hardware will make for an unstable, unhappy experience. You may get better mileage if you build one from scratch with the most similar hardware you can find, but a random beige box will have an unsuitably random assortment. The most flakey part for me was the graphics card, which happened to be the most similar piece of hardware in the box. I only managed to get one ethernet port working, as they were different chipsets.

Actually, most people fail in Step 1. If you can write down the problem correctly, you are likely to get to the solution at the end.

I have the same issue as the last contributor, James. The maximum number of folders shown in my menu was 19 and they were all directly under the root. When connected to a computer all show and are available/accessible but as a player I will have access to only 18 arbitrary folders…

They did make a Mac version of it. I bought the Gold edition way back when, which came with a Hybrid disc which has both versions on it. Since then, I had to have my disc exchanged because of scratches, and the copy I got back was not said hybrid disc. Thanks for these instructions!

We found charges from ILD on our Verizon bill and were told that they noticed these charges on other bills, but they are not responsible for the charges. They told us to contact the company directly. We tried several times to reach them was put on hold every time until we got the “message”. We agree with one of the previous respondents who believes that there may be only one operator.
